6 Health Reasons you should be Juicing (Recipes included)

1. Juicing helps you reach your recommended daily intake of fruit and vegetables.
Almost every health advocate recommends 6-8 servings of fruit and vegetables per day and juicing is a easy way to achieve that goal.

2. Juicing helps you absorb all of the nutrients from the fruit and vegetables.
Juicing helps by breaking down and “pre-digesting” them for you thus making it easier so absorb and utilize the nutrients.

3. Juicing makes it easier to add in a broader variety of different fruits and vegetables in your diet.
We are creatures of habit and most of us eat the same type of salads and fruits every day. Juicing helps eliminate this by allowing you to consume the fruit or vegetable that you may not normally enjoy eating whole.

4. Juicing helps boost your immune system.
Vegetables are loaded with phytochemicals which in laboratory studies have been shown to prevent DNA damage and help with DNA repair.

5. Juicing helps to increase your energy levels.
When our bodies are fed an abundance of nutrients it needs you feel energized.

6. Juicing aids in weight loss.
While vegetables are high in nutrients and fiber they are rather low in caloric intake. The extra fiber helps you to feel more full and satisfied thus reducing your overall daily caloric intake naturally.

Concentrate on dark, rich leafy vegetables such as spinach, broccoli, swiss chard, kale, chicory, parsley and mustard greens. Fruits are higher in fructose and calories so consume fruits sparingly.

I suggest drinking your juice first thing each morning for a natural energy boost. This is a wonderful and healthy alternative to increase your energy level without stimulants such as coffee which contains caffeine.

In order to retain most of the nutritional value from your juice it important to consume it within 12-24 hours after preparing it. After 24 hours the juice will under oxidation thus losing the vital nutrients in contains.
